Living outside

Summer keeps rolling along. We pretty much stay around water all summer long. After the beach we have bounced from the lake house to Vidalia to the lake house to a weekend at home......and at home during the week days with lots of trips to the pool! :)
We celebrated Gaddy's 65th birthday with a party in Vidalia Father's Day weekend. Thomas Tillman performed for us and it was a fun night! We danced the night away. Drew and Cory were excited to be at "a concert" and they kept me on the dance floor spinning them round and round. Pretty sure I shed at least 5 lbs. of sweat!! ;) I LOVE LOVE LOVE these special moments with my sweet boys.....where they still want to hold me, dance with me, and have fun with me. I know there will come a day (all too soon) when they will be too cool for me!! :( My Drewby already has these moments sometimes....too cool to hold my hand when going into school. In kindergarten....really?!?! Make momma cry! While in Vidalia we also did a little kayaking, played in the slip and slide, went to the pool, and went to see Papa (Gaddy's daddy)....who we haven't seen in a few months! He was looking good and I know he was excited to have so many visitors!!

Gaddy & Vimi with all their Grand kids...

Father's Day is always a fun holiday for me. It allows me to put my love for photography to work and to create something special for all the daddy's in my life! Pinterest always has great ideas (for EVERYTHING) and I saw one there that I just had to do of my boys...jeans, no shirts, daddy's ties, hats, and shoes. Soooo cute...I just had to try to recreate it!! Although....I watched a tutorial on you tube (about 15 times) and STILL couldn't figure out how to tie a tie! So, that part was a bit botched! ;)

I'm extremely thankful for my boys to have such a fantastic Daddy, Papa, and Gaddy. I also feel very fortunate to have grown up with such a loving Daddy. He always made me feel so loved and special. And he always made it clear to me how a man should treat me! Unfortunately, there are a lot of girls
in the world who don't have great role models and who grow up never knowing what they should expect to be treated like. Lucky for me, Kit has always treated me with the utmost love and respect
and he will always have my heart! And, he is the best daddy in the world to our boys! Oh, how they look up to him and want to do all things like daddy! Absolutely melts my heart!!  In fact, Cory just calls him "Best Daddy Ever" all the time. As in, "Best Daddy Ever, can I please have some juice?"  Pretty much just insert "best daddy ever" in place of Daddy and that is how Cory rolls! It is too
funny!! I get the "best mommy ever" sometimes too, but I generally only get it if I've done something super cool that he wasn't expecting. Like he asks for a Popsicle or something at 10 am and thinks I'll say no and I surprise him with "Sure, why not?" His eyes get big and he gets his enthusiastic voice
and says "best mommy ever!" lol... I wonder if I'll ever be as cool as dad again? Probably not! ;) Anyway - sorry, I got sidetracked!

Here are some of the special Father's Day pics.

This was another Father's Day Gift picture I did.
These handsome fellas, Daniel (4) & William (1), belong to some friends of ours, Kelly & Jason...check out their cute little feet! (also Pinterest inspired)

Mom and I decided to do something special for Joey for Father's Day too. So, she dressed them up and I got my camera out! I know since this was the 1st Father's Day without Crystal it was hard on him. But, these pictures made him smile and he was surprised! This is Caitlin (5) & Tyler (8).....
Caitlin is wearing the dress that was my FAVORITE dress up attire as a kid! Love it! :)

Seems we've had much more rain this summer than usual so Lake Hartwell is sooooo full and beautiful! Our cove looks completely different because there is so much more water. We are loving
it!! We all have a great time hanging out together as a family (with friends too) at the lake house! It's generally the same each time we go.......lots of fishing, jumping off the dock, boat rides on the pontoon, tubing, and swimming. We have some new kid kayaks there too that we have been enjoying. I like to go for a spin on them every now and then...but I am right at the weight limit so at times it gets a little wobbly if I have a child on with me! I've been tipped a time or two! ;) Daddy (Papa) tried it out one day and here was the immediate result....LOL!

Last time we were there, we pulled the speed boat out of the garage and did a bit of skiing. We are working on getting the kids to learn to ski. Tyler, Connor, and Cory gave it a whirl this time. Tyler and Connor both got up for a bit. Cory didn't have as much luck this time. Last year Cory was actually the super star at skiing and made it the farthest. Drew had a cut on his knee and didn't want to do it. Maybe this weekend we will have more luck....if the rain stays away! Kit and I skied too and man....its alot rougher on the body as an adult! Ski for 2 minutes and the arms and legs start feeling like jello! Not to mention the next day soreness...and the next day...and the next day! ;)

I have to wrap this post up now. I've been working on it here and there for 3 days. The boys are driving me crazy at the moment.....I'm pretty certain that I hear "Momma" said about 400 times each day! Each time I sit down at the computer somebody is hungry or thirsty or needs SOMETHING! Lol! AHHHHH! Sorry....its just one of THOSE days!

Hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July! And, I hope that the weather turns out to be better than predicted! I know there are alot of worried parents out there thinking about being trapped indoors for 3 days! At least I know I am! :)

Until next time ~
